The Company
Glinwell Marketing Ltd are a leading supplier of fresh produce for large-chain supermarkets in the UK.
The Sites
· 2002: The growing site is 10ha of glasshouse for tomato and Ramiro pepper production.
· 2019: The addition of 18ha of a high-spec poly multi-tunnel for tomato & pepper production in Winter.
· Gas-fired heating.
· Co2 enrichment.
· Environmental computer management [Hoogendoorn].
· Our Spanish site produces core and speciality protected salad crops, primarily for the UK multiples, although local and other EU markets may also be part of the customer base.
· Staffing: This will vary dependant on the crops and time of year, roughly 100-140 people, could be higher or lower.
The Role
You'll have full overview of the growing operation across the 10ha glasshouses and Winter production [full 28ha].
You'll see yourself working collaboratively with other sites, as well as working with the owners and stakeholders to implement best practices and continuous improvement.
The role is hands on, and there's no doubt you will be working hard but the rewards are there. If you have a real passion for growing fresh produce alongside a great team, then this could be just the role for you.
What do I need
· Previous experience supplying UK supermarkets would be advantageous
· Required: Hoogendoorn climate computer experience
· Required: Proof of experience managing forecasts for production/hitting targets required
· Be able to identify opportunities to develop the business
· Deliver against commercial objectives set by the company Directors
· Knowledge of growing produce to a high standard
· You'll already have your spray certificates and be confident in using them
· Experience in managing or supervising teams
· Relevant Health & Safety/First Aid knowledge
· Knowledge of wider Agricultural industry with the skills and ability to adapt your style
· Leadership and management experience with a variety of stakeholders
· Strategic thinking and perspective
· You are open-minded, with the ability and willingness to embrace change
· Someone who takes a solution-led approach to their work
· You are an excellent relationship builder
· You know how to use Microsoft’s basic software [outlook email/excel spreadsheets]
