UK: Aldi set for cracking Easter sales
Aldi is set to sell around 20mln hot cross buns and 8.6mln of its own-label chocolate eggs as the country's fourth-largest supermarket prepares for its biggest and best Easter yet. Hot cross buns and Easter eggs combined will see the retailer spend around £8mln with British suppliers in the run-up to Easter, while it will spend a further £4mln on fresh meat, fish, and meat-free alternatives and approximately £34mln on British fruit and vegetables. Denmark: Dagrofa reports 'highest profit in 20 years'
Danish retailer Dagrofa has reported an operating profit of DKK426mln (€57.1mln) in its 2023 financial year, which the group said was its strongest profit performance for 20 years. After-tax, profit stood at DKK89mln (€11.9mln), which was a more than 20% increase on the previous year.

Circle K owner sees revenue and profits driven by acquisitions
Alimentation Couche-Tard, which operates the Circle K forecourt brand in many countries across Europe, has reported a 1.6% increase in revenue in its merchandise and service division, which operates its retail operations, in its third quarter. The group reported merchandise and service revenues of $5.0bln (€4.6bln) in the period, however same-store revenues were down by 1.5% in the United States, by 0.3% in Europe and other regions, and by 1.2% in Canada.

Trader Joe's is expanding its store count across the United States as the grocer announced the opening of several new locations that will welcome shoppers in the coming months.
