The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) recorded 264 millimeters of rainfall at the Santa Rosa station from April 28th to May 3rd, impacting ferry crossings and damaging roadways, thus complicating onion transportation logistics.
The Cepea bulletin highlighted: "Recent heavy rainfall in Argentine producing regions has prompted some Brazilian traders to opt for Chilean onions, renowned for their superior quality." This shift has influenced onion prices, with a 2.4% increase noted, reaching an average of R$ 116 per 20-kilo bag by May 03.
