At the upcoming Viva Fresh produce trade show in Houston this April 11-13, 2024, BrightFarms will be stationed at booth #820 and offer insight into the opening of its Lorena, Texas greenhouse. The greenhouse will be operating by fall 2024.
The grower's participation in Viva Fresh underscores its commitment to providing a fresh and secure supply of Texas-grown salad greens to retailers and consumers throughout the state. Attendees can anticipate learning more about the climate and temperature control technology being integrated into the greenhouse to deliver quality and freshness.
"We are thrilled to celebrate our expansion into Texas at Viva Fresh," said Abby Prior, chief commercial officer. "With the opening of our new greenhouse in Lorena later this year, we will bring a brand with proven growth-driving strength to the market."
Its expansion plans are supported by the announcement of Cox Farms, a new business at Cox Enterprises that is focused on sustainable food and agriculture and one of the largest greenhouse operators in North America, harvesting 360 million pounds of produce annually. With the support of Cox Farms, BrightFarms is poised to accelerate and expand its operational capacity.
The Lorena, Texas greenhouse will be operating by fall 2024.
BrightFarms will also showcase its Crunch Kit™ salads. These salad kits offer consumers a convenient and delicious meal option, featuring its Sunny Crunch™ lettuce as the base, complemented by bold and flavorful toppings. Recently, BrightFarms introduced two new flavors to its line-up: the Mediterranean Crunch Kit™, delivering a herby and tangy flavor with feta cheese, roasted lentils, herbed flatbread, and Greek feta vinaigrette, and the Southwest Chipotle Crunch Kit™, featuring roasted corn, tortilla strips, cotija cheese, and chipotle ranch dressing.
Visit booth #820 to discuss ongoing expansion plans and distribution opportunities across the East Coast, Midwest, Southeast, and beyond.
