A total of 5,428 kilograms of fresh apricots from Yuncheng, Shanxi Province, China, have been exported to Russia, marking the province's inaugural overseas shipment of this fruit, as reported by Shanxi customs. This development increases the number of exported fruit varieties from Shanxi to 14.
Yuncheng, "North China's Orchard," boasts of natural conditions conducive to fruit cultivation, including a mild climate, moderate rainfall, and fertile soil. Previously, Yuncheng has successfully exported apples and Chinese dates to the United States in 2016 and 2020, respectively, along with nectarines to Australia in 2016 and watermelons in 2021.
In support of these export initiatives, the local government has implemented a green channel for expedited customs clearance of fresh fruits and has provided guidance to growers on adhering to scientific pest control, processing, and packaging practices to comply with the legal and regulatory standards of the importing countries.
